Off the Spreadsheet

  • One house style for every bar, level and figure: slanted bars that shine while something is under way, levels as slanted cells, market shares as one segmented bar, and one meaning per colour (teal is you, amber is look at this, green good, red bad).
  • Product & price: your can on a pedestal in a new hall, one radar for what a market wants against what you deliver, and last week in five figures and one signal (turned away, running out, or in balance).
  • Marketplace: mined against used per material on one scale, with a warning before you run out, and this week's trades against the weekly limit.
  • The Orion Spur recalibrated with real astrophysics: hot worlds close to the star and frozen ones far out, names that follow the orbit (your HQ is now Nadir I), stars of different sizes, deposits that fit the world, and worlds drawn at their size, gas giants the biggest.
  • Extractors cost more or less depending on the world: volcanic worlds are rich in metal but dear to mine, ice worlds are cheap.
  • Saves without a limit: no fixed slots, saves grouped per game and sorted by newest, name, date in game or cash, three rotating autosaves, and Continue picks your newest game.
  • Ore Dice in 3D, seven new music stings for breakthroughs, rivals going down and the four endings, and the music waits until a film has finished.
  • A game saved before this update continues on the recalibrated map, with an apology notice.
v0.9.4.4 · 23 octobre 2026

Showroom

  • Almost every management screen rebuilt around five questions: what does it show, what does a click do, where can you go next, what are the consequences, and where are you.
  • A new rail with names under its icons in four groups (where you are, your marketing mix, operations, the figures), page tabs top right on every screen, glass panels on one grid, and a new sector map with neon cell edges, a light running round the selected system and depth as you zoom.
  • Brands: campaigns, sponsors and collabs on one screen. A new campaign shows an awareness radar for every world it reaches and the extra sales it brings, including whether your stock can deliver them.
  • Product & price: your cost per can part by part and per station, the price panel always in view, and a cost history with your own milestones. Sales: trade offices, agents and a coverage map that shows where your grip comes from.
  • Rivals (was Corporations): the markets each rival leads, the ones you share, their product and their moves.
  • R&D: research cards with their own Add to queue button, branch tabs and the new look a packaging tech brings. HQ staff training as a numbered path per department. Stations: an Operations network navigator with every station by system, filters and search.
  • Results: sold, produced and wanted in one chart, with your price beside it. Room pictures where they were missing: extraction interiors, the marketing studios and picture cards for the café games.
  • Achievements: 64 new badges in bronze, silver and gold, a gallery under Leaderboards → XP, and a small notice with a chime when you earn a new one (you can turn it off in Settings).
  • There may be one more CEO in the line-up than you think.
v0.9.4.3 · 22 octobre 2026

Lip Service

  • Talking faces, version 2: all nine speaking characters got a new set of ten mouth shapes and in-between blink frames, edited from one portrait each, so lips, teeth and skin stay the same from frame to frame. The voice picks the shape, the volume how far the mouth opens, and every change fades instead of jumping.
  • The bartenders, the dice queen, the bookie, the trader and the race caller now actually use the extra mouth frames made for them (only the news anchor did).
  • Softer edges around every mouth and eye layer, skin tones matched to the face, and the thin line across the news anchor's neck is gone.
  • Fixed: the game could freeze on the Marketing screen when a notice and a scrolled market list kept pushing each other around. The desktop app now also writes a crash log and recovers a stuck or crashed window on its own, with your autosaves kept.
  • The holodeck buildings grow with their level, so a level-6 factory no longer looks like a level-1 one.
  • The end screen names the special moments you earned while playing (Every Rock Counted, Hostile Takeover and the rest) next to the XP for the result.
  • Stock alerts show real numbers (120M cans, not 12), the game no longer stays paused after every message screen by default, and a Discovery Center is only offered at your HQ.
  • A player name you registered is locked on the CEO screen, with a Rename button, so the leaderboards keep one name per player.
  • The product radar on the Corporations screen names its axes, and an empty leaderboard explains that a sent game appears once the server has replayed it.
v0.9.4.2 · 22 octobre 2026

Control Room

  • The factory hall is now a control room: every production line has its own console with robots, clock speed and output, a 'what to do next' row, the running costs at a glance and a preview of every upgrade before you pay.
  • A 50 % clock for quiet times (next to 75, 100, 125 and 150 %), so a line can run slower without wasting robots. Rivals use it too.
  • A balance pass: every home world measured so nobody starts on a poor one, rivals placed by the seed and evened out, scenarios tuned on your real start, HQ training priced by the size of your company, and in Classic THE CHAIR's verdict now comes in year 25.
  • Research works the way you expect: click a project to see it first, with a radar that shows how your product's grades change (for example Kick B → A−), then put it in the queue.
  • A Sponsor manager in the HQ marketing tree: a third sponsorship slot, and a fourth once your marketing is strong enough.
  • New XP achievements: The Incumbent (more than 55 % market share), revenue in one year and units sold in one game, each in bronze, silver and gold.
  • Onboarding from our first playtest with two 12-year-olds: replay the intro from Settings, tutorial rings that point at the right button, Show me, hide or restart the tutorial, clearer station and agent texts, and the game stays paused after a message screen (a setting turns that off).
  • Talking faces move their lips with the words now, not just with the volume, and gained in-between mouth and blink frames. The logistics adviser has a new voice.
  • Italian, Polish and Turkish: the game is in 13 languages. Every screen fits at 130 % text in all of them, and numbers and prices use your language's decimal mark.
  • Many fixes from three code reviews, among them a price typed as 1.234,50 that was read 1000× too low.
v0.9.4.1 · 21 octobre 2026

Fine-Tuned Command

  • Notices never cover a button any more: at most two at a time, top right first, and they move out of the way of whatever you are using. GNN news makes way for them.
  • Stations: your HQ comes first in the station strip, with an "All stations" overview for big companies; the executive assistant's briefing sits on every station page; modules ready for an upgrade show an ↑ badge, and a queued build can be removed with × Remove.
  • Product & price: the match radar is back next to the can, with your unit cost and margin. Research opens on the finished tree once everything is researched.
  • System and planet pages: a cleaner line of worlds with your share and status per world, and the previous and next world at the same height.
  • New screens from the Command designs: a Results cockpit (key figures, a large chart you can step through, cash flow, top markets, years and events), a Sponsors portfolio (active, available and collabs, contract status, every rival deal), the HQ office by department, and a Marketplace with an order ticket that estimates the price before you trade.
  • XP (beta), under Leaderboards: ranks from Intern to Tycoon and 42 achievements, among them Monopolist on every difficulty. Counted on this computer; the values may still change before 1.0.
  • The end screen tells you what happened to your game on the leaderboards: sent, waiting for a connection, or why it does not count.
  • Many fixes from two code reviews.
v0.9.4 · 21 octobre 2026

Take Command

  • A new interface, Command, from the sector map down to the factory floor. A system opens as a line of worlds, and every world has its own page: what its people want, who sells there, your agents and campaigns, its resources, your station and the local café.
  • Holodeck stations: every station is a room with your buildings as holograms on the table; click one to step inside. Gas giants and asteroid belts are run from an orbital bridge, and the HQ button takes you to your home station.
  • See before you pay: every upgrade shows now → after (robot room, output per robot, upkeep, the one-off bill and the build time), and a button you cannot use says why, right next to it.
  • A product match radar: what a market wants next to what your product delivers, before and after a research or a campaign. Also in Research and in Product & price.
  • Your sales team has faces: 13 agents with their own name, portrait and voice. Compare a move before you send one, or show an agent on the map.
  • A Corporations dashboard (the race for market share, every rival's CEO and what your intel knows) and new map layers: reach, people, and metal or water resources.
  • Steel is now called metal, in every language.
  • 11 scenarios from THE CHAIR: Market Leader 55, 60, 70 and 80 %, Blitz, Monopolist, Explorer, Innovator, Tycoon, Last One Standing and Underdog. Each has a target and a deadline, with gold, silver or bronze for the year you make it; if a rival gets there first, the assignment is over. Every scenario has one fixed start, the same for everyone.
  • Online leaderboards (beta): finish a game under your player name and it is sent in. The server replays the whole game before it goes on the board. There is a board per ruleset (standard and hard) and one per scenario; games with cheats, an easier setup or a map of your own choice do not count.
  • Keep playing after your charter. Take 100 % of the market and drive every rival out of business for the MONOPOLY ending, with its own stamp. It counts on the leaderboard too, up to year 40.
  • Storm the Keep, a new dice game in the Orbit Lounges: attack Castellan Marrok's keep with up to three dice. He defends with one or two, and ties go to the keep.
  • Product & price is easier to read: each property shows its three biggest techs, and the full list is in the tooltip.
  • Every refinement tier now has its own icon in the tech screen (it said "image not found").
  • On the station screen, the construction label of a module stays on one line and inside the picture.
  • Leaderboards and in-game updates need your purchase linked to the computer: the Windows installer does it by itself, on a Mac press "Link to my game" on your download page once. One purchase links up to 3 of your computers, and your player name works on all of them. The game itself always plays, linked or not.
  • Full controller support on every new screen (Xbox layout).
  • Coming next — 0.9.4.1: Italian, Polish and Turkish. Then 0.9.5: trade.
v0.9.3.5 · 18 octobre 2026

The Courtroom

  • A story to start with: New Game now opens in the Commission's courtroom. GNN reports that the drinks market opens to one outsider, the queue of defendants waits, and THE CHAIR takes her seat. After you pick your CEO, the clerk reads out the case file and the sentence: Corporate Service, running StarCorp until it counts as established or the time is up. Skip it whenever you like; from your second game on it is much shorter.
  • Four endings, each with its own stamp on your CEO's case file and a last word from THE CHAIR: Charter granted, The market is closed, Sentence served and Licence revoked.
  • Claim a reserved leaderboard name: if a name is reserved, the CEO screen offers "I have a claim code for this name". The code goes with that one request and is never stored.
  • "Link to my game" on your download page: one click links the game to your purchase, so a Mac gets its updates from the main menu without copying a link.
  • At 130 % text size every screen now fits in every language: the top bar's money in German, Russian and Dutch, the final standings in Japanese and Chinese, and Settings in Japanese.
  • The new chrome-and-gold StarCorp wordmark in the main menu, the loading screen and the credits.
  • 30 new lines on the GNN ticker: the courtroom, the CEOs' offences, the endings and the four expansion packs.
  • Every new text translated into the ten languages.
  • Coming next — 0.9.4: scenarios and online leaderboards (beta), and the game in Italian, Polish and Turkish.
v0.9.3 · 18 octobre 2026

The Long Game

  • A new way to play: Advanced, now the default on the New Game screen. Your rivals fight for the lead, customers expect more every year, research goes on past the tree with refinement tiers, and the race for the charter opens in year 8 with a GNN moment. Nobody at the winning share by year 20? Then the Chair decides on points. Classic plays exactly as before.
  • Choose your CEO: 26 candidates, each with a case file (offence, fine, verdict). Your CEO's portrait sits in the top bar, and you can give your own name for the leaderboards (optional, removable in Settings).
  • Rivals can now go under in Advanced, and you see it happen, with its own film. New films too for the four endings, for completing all research and for your Discovery Center.
  • New stations cost more the further they are from home and the more you already have (Advanced, scaled to the difficulty).
  • Stations screen: your stations grouped per system, with icons for production that is off, building, and anything that needs a look. Once all research is done, you can scrap your labs and stop paying for them.
  • Marketing: see which studios are idle and plan up to five campaigns ahead; they start as soon as a studio is free. Sales and Marketing each have their own button now.
  • A new sales agent can be sent somewhere straight from its notice. The bookie shows on the map, with a button to go to that café.
  • Clearer reasons: why a brand leads a planet, what a tech really adds once a trait is at its maximum, overstock advice in weeks, and a warning when you are selling more than you make with only four weeks of stock left.
  • MAX speed: a year in half a minute. At MAX, screens become notices, except decisions and critical warnings.
  • Tutorial: a step you cannot afford yet waits, with a button to the bank.
  • Corporations shows a share chart per year; Results shows units sold per year.
  • About 190 new news headlines and new voice lines, so the news repeats far less.
  • Optional anonymous statistics: off until you say yes. Once a year a short summary of your game, without your name, e-mail or device id; games with cheats are never sent.
  • Every new text translated into the ten languages.
  • Coming next — 0.9.4: scenarios and online leaderboards (beta). Then the story of Corporate Service, Steam with 1.0, and KIXIK as the first expansion after 1.0.
v0.9.2 · 17 octobre 2026

Clarity

  • A tutorial: your executive assistant walks you through the first ten minutes, step by step (skip a step or end it any time), and then sets you a first goal: lead three markets besides your home market.
  • A new station screen: your modules on the left, the station in the middle, and whatever you click on the right. Production, fleet and the café are one click away, and everything fits on one screen, also at 130 % text size.
  • Eco mode and overclock per robot line: set production, labs and marketing separately.
  • Big moments now come with a short film: charting a new star system, surveying each kind of world, founding a station. Each comes with music and sound and ends exactly on the picture you know.
  • The GNN news opens with a fly-in to the studio before the anchor speaks.
  • A first look at the CEO line-up on the New Game screen: browse the candidates and watch them walk on stage. Your CEO joins the game itself in 0.9.3.
  • Gulst's research has new names that say what each step does.
  • The C64 terminal now warns before your first cheat: a game with cheats stays off the leaderboards.
  • Translations for all new texts in the ten languages, and Kling AI in the credits for the video.
  • Coming next — 0.9.3: rivals that fight for the lead, a longer and deeper late game, and choosing your CEO (with your own name for the leaderboards). After that: scenarios and online leaderboards, then the story.
v0.9.1 · 17 octobre 2026

Ten Languages

  • Starcorp Tycoon now speaks ten languages: English, Nederlands, Deutsch, Français, Español, Português (Brasil), Русский, 简体中文, 日本語 and 한국어. The game starts in your computer's language; switch any time in Settings. Voices stay English.
  • The Windows installer is now signed by Van den Ing Webmarketing, and the game only installs updates that carry that signature.
  • One-click updates on Mac too: from this version on, the game downloads, checks (Apple's Developer ID and notarisation) and installs its next update itself. This time, Mac players install 0.9.1 by hand once.
  • New default music: Theme 4. The other tracks are still in Settings.
  • Stock joins the top bar (how long your stock lasts at last week's sales); the robot count moved to Stations.
  • When every tech is researched, your advisers tell you to scrap the research robots instead of warning about an empty lab.
  • More voice variety: new lines for the scan officer and the bookie, and the news anchor now says what a rival did (a sponsor deal, a new station).
  • The sector map shows the painted suns of the system view.
  • Sharp installer artwork on high-resolution screens (up to 300 % scaling) and a readable checkbox on the last page.
  • The C64 terminal no longer starts with a stray ` on keyboards with dead keys.
  • About the version number: 0.9.0 was our internal test build; 0.9.1 is the first public release of the 0.9 series and includes everything in it.
  • Coming next — 0.9.2 'Clarity': a tutorial, clearer news and more variety in it. After that: scenarios with THE CHAIR, leaderboards, and a story with a reason to win.
v0.8.4 · 16 octobre 2026

The 2246 Update

  • A fair start: a balance pass on the opening years, and Discovery Centers now run from your home base only (stations that already have one keep it).
  • Every game now records its moves, and a recorded game replays to the exact same result: the foundation for the leaderboards coming in 0.9.
  • A new icon set drawn for the game: the side rail, the tech tree, resources, warnings and the café, all in one clean line style.
  • Interface pass: larger click areas, more readable small text, one highlighted button per list, and clearer choices.
  • GNN gets its own studio sting and a breaking-news sting; the music ducks under the anchor.
  • The news is set in 2246 now: no more alarm clocks, shopping trolleys or filing cabinets. Re-recorded news lines to match.
  • The research queue shows long tech names without overlapping the timing.
  • New Windows installer artwork, and the open-source notices ship with the game.
  • Coming in 0.9: scenarios with THE CHAIR, Strengths and product lines, rare earth, leaderboards, Storm the Keep, and the SpaceZombies outbreak.
v0.8.3 · 14 octobre 2026

GNN

  • GNN, the Galaxy News Network: a red news ticker, and news bulletins as TV lower thirds (Breaking News, Markets) that take turns in one place. The anchor's studio carries the channel's logo.
  • The sector map: every charted system shows its own star's nebula in its own area, fading softly into the sector's sky.
  • The planet view fits on one screen: your station and the café one click away under the planet, explanations behind (i). The mouse wheel only zooms.
  • A build queue per station: line up the next constructions; each is paid when it starts, and waits if the money is not there yet.
  • Stations: the other page shows as a strip beside the one you are on — click it (or swipe) to turn.
  • Year in review: every figure with its change on the year before, plus units sold.
  • A clear mouse click on everything you can click.
  • Café: the slot machine stands on the floor, and Comet Race ships start in their launch tubes.
  • Event screens keep their buttons on screen; the recipe screen only shows traits that research can change.
  • Fixed: a light line under one of the café characters' faces.
v0.8.2 · 14 octobre 2026

Coming soon

  • A first look at four expansion packs in the main menu: Sneakers (KIXIK), Sports Nutrition (ApexBiotic), Robotics (NexusHom) and Space Vehicles (StratoStreak). Click a card for the full teaser.
  • The planet view drops its blue halo around living worlds: it clashed with warm suns.
v0.8.1 · 14 octobre 2026

New skies

  • New star-system art: every sun, planet, moon and asteroid belt redrawn, with loose rocks and ice in the belts and a comet passing now and then. Worlds are lit from their sun's side, and the stations in orbit show their own design.
  • The sector map changes its sky to the selected system's star type, with a fade in between. Double-click a system to zoom in.
  • Planets and moons turn more slowly and calmly.
  • The splash screen and main menu are animated by the game itself: the download is about 70 MB smaller and the ships fly smoothly.
  • Leaving a game with unsaved play asks first: save and leave, leave without saving, or stay. Closing the window asks too.
  • Saves show their market, the year, cash and market share, and can be renamed and deleted.
  • Fixed: sales agents stood on the home world again after closing and restarting the game.
  • Fixed: research queues from older saves could be stuck; they are repaired when the save loads.
  • Prices: step buttons from −1000 to +1000 next to the price field.
  • Stations: swipe between the pages, or click the dots.
  • Café: every café has its own slot-machine corner, the Comet Race flies through a new floating arena (the winner's ring turns green), Queen Halda's face stays put while she talks, and a raid on the back room is explained.
  • The cheat console now also opens on keyboards with dead keys.
  • Music: the two “Still” tracks are gone.
v0.8.0 · 13 octobre 2026

The café

  • New: the café. Every inhabited world has one — The Orbit Lounge, The Rusty Drill, Last Light Saloon or the Dockside Diner — where you have a station or a sales agent. Time stands still while you are inside.
  • The bartender pours the market leader's drink and tells you a rumour about your rivals. Rumours are not always true; buy a round and they are more reliable. Your inbox tells you later whether it was.
  • The back room: steel and water under the counter, cheaper than the market — unless the inspectors walk in. Sometimes a freighter captain offers a big lot. Sometimes he disappears with your money.
  • Every café has its own dice table, bookie's counter and back room, with Queen Halda, Slick Nettleby and Captain Grell (new look) at the table.
  • Games of chance: Nebula Slots, Robot Run, the Comet Race and Ore Dice against Queen Halda's miners. Win too much and word gets around. (Can be switched off in Settings.)
  • The bookie comes to town now and then and takes bets on the sponsors' next seasons. Betting against your own champion is allowed. Winning it may leak.
  • Every café has its own music, a crowd you can hear and characters who talk; every game has its own music.
  • Quiet ambience under the stations, HQ, finance and marketplace screens (can be switched off).
  • A new market model: price, quality, awareness and presence decide who sells. Cutting the price really wins share, and a drink that falls short on what a world wants sells less.
  • Media campaigns now run until you stop them, and only work as far as your marketing robots keep them going.
  • Your saves from earlier versions load as they are.
v0.7.1 · 13 octobre 2026

Zoom into your worlds

  • New: open any charted system and see its sun with the planets in orbit, each with a frame showing people, deposits, market shares and your sales.
  • New: the planet view. Zoom in on a world for every figure your Trade Office can see — down to each rival's exact weekly sales and price at level 3 — what its people want, and your agents and station.
  • Scroll to zoom all the way: sector map → system → planet → your station, and back.
  • The news studio is live: a layered studio with a moving view, a news anchor who blinks and speaks, the headline in its own frame and a running ticker.
  • Text size setting (Auto, 100, 115, 130 %) and larger menu icons, for laptops and big screens alike.
  • Pick markets for agents and campaigns from a sortable table: people, wealth, market size, your share, travel time.
  • Upgrade extractors straight from the marketplace; survey worlds straight from the system list.
  • 'Don't show these again' on message screens, and 'News without interruption' for world news.
  • Spoken lines now queue up in order instead of cutting each other off.
  • Longer sponsor contracts are cheaper per year.
  • Research is smoother mid-game, with seven new technologies.
  • Your saves from earlier versions load as they are.
v0.7.0 · 13 octobre 2026

HQ and staff

  • New: HQ. Your first station is your headquarters, with its own screen in the menu bar.
  • Consult your heads of finance, production & logistics, marketing and research at any time.
  • Staff training: four departments, three levels each. A training fee once and a weekly salary; trained management makes its department cheaper and safer and gives deeper advice, from forecasts to scenarios.
  • Meet your executive assistant: train her and she names the most important matter the moment you walk in, and looks ahead at what is coming.
  • Advice cards: trained staff say one useful thing when you open a screen (can be switched off in Settings).
  • Rivals train their management too, the harder the level the further.
  • Your saves from earlier versions load as they are.
v0.6.2 · 13 octobre 2026

Smoother and more alive

  • Screens now glide into each other: the top bar and menu stay put while the content slides in the direction you move.
  • Event scenes come alive: distant traffic crosses the sky of new worlds and stations, bad news pulses red, good news glows.
  • Dialogs settle in instead of popping up.
  • Stations screen: a big arrow and page dots show the second page; swipe with the mouse or touchpad to turn pages.
  • New screenshots and this releases page on the website.
v0.6.1 · 13 octobre 2026

Station view fixes

  • Station modules now stand on the buildable ground of every world instead of on rivers, ridges or craters.
  • Demo: the load screen says up front which saves it cannot open.
  • Product screen: changes against a short white flash some Windows PCs showed when opening it.
v0.6.0 · 13 octobre 2026

Installer and one-click updates

  • Proper Windows installer with Start menu and desktop shortcut; uninstalls cleanly and never touches your saves.
  • Update now: the game downloads, checks and installs a new version itself, then restarts (Windows).
  • New look for our emails, better protection of personal download links.
v0.5.6 · 12 octobre 2026

Stations without scrolling

  • Stations screen split into Production & robots and Site & modules.
  • Sharper packaging art.

  • Start positions follow the difficulty; new music themes.
v0.5.1 · 12 octobre 2026

Banks and updates

  • A screen for every bank with its banker, terms and loan desk.
